Ssangyong Service and MOT
The benefits of a genuine SsangYong service
Regular maintenance is a major factor in prolonged vehicle life, sustained performance and trouble-free motoring. To help in achieving this, SsangYong has developed a plan of inspection and service operations to be carried out at given intervals. It is very important that your vehicle is serviced at correct intervals. The 12 month (10,000/12,500 miles) service is carried out at intervals of not more than 12 months, even on low mileage vehicles. If your vehicle only does a low annual mileage, for example less than 3,000 miles, you must have a service carried out every 12 months. This is because the condition of your engine oil and other fluids will deteriorate if you use your SsangYong for short journeys or infrequently. Other service items are dependent on time and not just mileage covered.
You can find your service intervals in your SsangYong Service record provided with your SsangYong or by checking with your nearest SsangYong Authorised Repairer.
Periodically, as the time and mileage increase, your SsangYong Authorised Repairer will automatically undertake the additional work shown in the schedule.
It is strongly recommended that the maintenance services are performed by a SsangYong Authorised Repairer who will have trained technicians and genuine parts with which to maintain your vehicle properly.
Inadequate, incomplete, or insufficient servicing may result in operational problems with your vehicle that could even lead to vehicle damage, an accident or personal injury.

Ssangyong Towing Centre
SsangYongs have long been renowned for their towing ability. And the company's roots in rugged military vehicle design are still evident in the pulling power of the current range.
What makes a good towing car? Real towing ability comes from a combination of strength, pulling power, weight and design.
Strength The Korando has a new monocoque body construction. Traditionally, 4x4s had a separate body and chassis, but the Korando's design allows for great strength and rigidity without excessive weight. The big 4x4 Rexton, Korando Sports and Turismo still retain the separate chassis which provides a strong towing platform for heavier loads.
Pulling power Pulling power (or torque) is more important in daily driving - and especially towing - than maximum power or 0-60mph figures. Because most people don't use their cars for drag racing, the amount of pull at low engine speeds is a better indication of how well the car will accelerate or pull a load.
The SsangYong 2.0L diesel engine produces a big, constant 360Nm of pulling power from 2000-3000rpm. That's more than many other cars with much larger engines. So it's quick when it's not towing and unflustered when it is.
Weight Manufacturers quote the approved towing limits of their models, which for SsangYong range from 2 tonnes for Korando through to 3 tonnes for Rexton. These are the maximum weights our vehicles can tow a braked trailer safely. However, different groups of towers view towing capacities differently - owners of horse boxes can often tow to the manufacturers limit, but tend to drive cautiously due to their precious cargo.
The Caravan Club advises that the weight of your caravan should not exceed 85% of the kerb weight of the towing vehicle - this is because most cars rely on their weight to help stabilize the towed mass. The SsangYong range is well suited to caravan towing with kerb weights in excess of the competition and a spread of vehicles to tackle the largest vans.
Design A small proportion of the towed load rests directly on the towbar, so its design, build and fitting are hugely important. The Korando's towbar is engineered to withstand up to 80kg. Believe us, that's a lot.
Meanwhile the big Rexton's towbar can carry up to 128kg. Good luck finding a caravan that's too big for it.
